Excerpt: ...i still own this disc because of the incredible concert footage. it's the only zeppelin on blu-ray and it's really cheap to own. if any other zeppelin concerts are released in the future, i'll probably sell this disc but for now this will have to give me my fix. this band was incredible!
Excerpt: Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock bands in the history of music. From the late sixties to the early seventies, the group wanted to record and release a live performance. The group with their producer set out to make The Song Remains the Same. The plot is simple. Led Zeppelin, who is on vacation in their home country of England, are called to perform live at the World’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.
The Extras are interesting... But the BD is too grainy

Excerpt: The movie has been around for years, so you can read all about that anywhere. I do want to comment that I thought the Blu-ray remastered edition was grainy, too grainy. I don't know what print they had to work from, but, I do not remember the earlier DVD edition being grainy. I certianly do not remember the flim as seen at the midnight movies in the 80's as being grainy. Obviously, the 42" 1080p flatscreen shows you what's there...
Excerpt: I"m a BIG Zepp fan, and this concert has my favorite version of Dazed and Confused that I have seen or heard, I have the DVD version of this too, bought it before I was into Blu-Ray. When Amazon dropped the price to $9.99 I thought it would be a good time to buy it. I wish the video would have been better but I'm sure they didn't have much to work with to begin with?
Excerpt: I also don't like the fantasy sequences of this concert movie. I wish they would have had to versions, one with the fantasy stuff and one without. I would always be watching without the fantasty stuff personally. The video is fantastic and the blacks are very dark black and rich but I did notice some grain which I am not a fan of, but very little. The audio is perfect I thought. I thoroughly enjoy this on BluRay.
Excerpt: Nice to see that somebody finally realized it was time to release something that music fans would enjoy. You can't beat old on stage footage of a fantastic band when music was actually music. The video quality is some what blah but what were they supposed to do with the 35 year old footage. the audio on the other hand was pretty good and the extras were not too bad either...except for the removal of an interview that delayed the original release a number of months ago.
Excerpt: I heard "The Song Remains the Same" was coming to blu ray and then all of a sudden I heard it was pulled off the market. I checked Best Buy and it said it had a few in stock so I grabbed it ASAP. I was expecting a lot from it and I wouldn't say it delivered exactly the way I wanted it to, but it's still a great purchase for any Zepp fan. It's also a great Blu Ray too! The sound is absolutely fantastic and the mix at the show was great.
Excerpt: I kinda agree with the main comment about the MOVIE, but funny enough, for those who have known the movie since many years ago, we have accepted how the movie was made, and thus it has become a classic. So basically, the new viewers would be the more affected by the introduction and all the material that have nothing to do with the concert. Something that I agree with also is with the fact that the group look somehow tired.
