Reviews and Problems with Lady Gaga Presents: The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden
Showing 1-9 of 9
Poor immitation of Madonna
20 September 2013
Conclusion: Watched this concert on TV and was very disappointed as I am a big fan. It is as if Gaga has watched every other Madonna concert and taken elements from them but done it in a cheaper and tackier way. There are some really good elements and costumes in the show but the extended monologues are too much, too long and she really needs to stop saying "put your paws up" to the crowd as it gets really annoying.
Conclusion: The first part is very exciting, but then everything becomes very repetitive and icky. Too many platitudes in the dialogues and often repetitive, and often one gets confused too many people on stage. The direction is excellent. Gaga's very good, but all have seen with Madonna!
Conclusion: Again like other reviewers liked gaga but am quickly going off her. This concert is a total Madonna rip off and obviously she does need to rip Madge off. Nearly every performance these days is a copy of madonna. I know she has more talent than comes across in this concert but she is becoming lazy and to affected by her own fame. Gagas first album was amazing her second a pile of outdated eurodance drivel. Shame.
Pure Genius but eccentric...Fantastic Concert on Blu-ray
20 September 2013
Conclusion: To all the Reviewers stating Lady GaGa has to copy Madonna - This Lady Does not have to copy anyone. Her Musical talent and originality is pure Genius from a truely gifted individual. Shot by H.B.O. in Madison Square Gardens in New York be prepared to be thrilled with both picture and sound quality in a Top Drawer Blu-ray. Look out for Fantastic Performances in Born This Way, Bad Romance, Telephone and Just Dance to name but a few.
Conclusion: I was happy with this concert. I did not know what to expect as I have only seen her restricted on tv. The concert even though it was not whole, showed Lady GAGA in a more down to earth girl. Loved every minute of it.
Conclusion: OK! Let's look at this from a proper perspective and not the comparisons to Madonna. This show was recorded in the United States for a commercial market i.e. HBO, to be screened to the population en mass! Anyone who has been lucky enough to see the shows, 'as is' in the UK or across the world for that matter know that this is a toned down show.
Conclusion: I have to agree with the previous reviewer, this show does feel like a mish-mash of Madonna's previous tours but not in a good way! Although I think Lady Gaga is extremely talented individual, her show lacks any class and the back staged action looks like a direct rip-off of Madonna's "Truth or Dare" documentary or In Bed With Madonna as in the UK.
