  • Conclusion: Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg's Kon-Tiki , the most expensive Norwegian film ever produced, is also one of the year's best films. I liked it so much that I am now going to see if I can track down a DVD copy of Thor Heyerdahl's original documentary film, which won an Oscar for Best Documentary...

  • Conclusion: 'Kon-Tiki' is a satisfying piece of entertainment that uses breathtaking visual imagery and a clever use of CGI to make the real-life journey of the Kon-Tiki expedition feel like a fantastical journey and triumph of the human spirit.

  • Conclusion: Though it doesn't necessarily shatter the mold of inspirational true stories, Norway's Kon-Tiki is well-made, instantly appealing, and consistently engaging. Its triumph of the human spirit is a pleasant contrast to last year's celebrated European films that about dismemberment, deterioration, and...

  • Excerpt: If nothing else, the fact-based sea-faring adventure Kon-Tiki allows one to revel in the basic pleasures of cinematic craftsmanship, which is a dying art in the age of the bloated summer blockbuster as recurring toy commercial.

  • Excerpt: Why do thrilling adventures rarely make for thrilling movies? As daring undertakings go, Thor Heyerdahl’s 1947 attempt to navigate from South America to Polynesia on a balsa-wood raft ranks with the best (or, for the spoilsports, most foolhardy).

  • Conclusion: A big-spirited and inspiring boy’s own adventure. If its directors’ next port of call, Pirates 5, boasts as many thrills per nautical mile, the franchise is in good hands.

Ekspeditionen er fortalt som 'a walk in the park'. Det havde jeg ikke forventet. Alt for lidt action og vildskab.
