Excerpt: I suspect a number of people will leave the theater disappointed with this movie. The main cause for this is twofold. First, the movie's genre has been mislabeled - for those of you that don't know yet, it's really a sci fi film. Second, the movie's finale is likely to be polarizing to audiences (it’s something that will either pull the story together nicely for you, or come off as cornball).
Summary: From the trailers of Knowing you'd be convinced that you're going to watch a cheesy, try to save the world picture with a wound tight Nicolas Cage at the center gritting his teeth and ducking his way to the perfect ending. Well, you'd be partially correct. Cage is definitely giving his wound tight hero routine that he's worked so hard to develop over the last half dozen films. As for the cheese factor, that's where you'll be surprised.
Summary: First of all, yes I did see this movie, and no I'm not much of a talker when it comes to discussing and reviewing movies. Therefore, I will keep it short and simple. Nicholas Cage's movies have lately been a lot of action flicks that may or may not seem like movies we've all seen before. This one, however, brings a new fresh feeling to this genre.
Conclusion: Im shocked that this film is getting low star reviews, please do not be put off by this as knowing is rather an excellent film, a really interesting and gripping story throughout, always keeps you wondering, nic cage is good in the film, best he's done lately as he is a bit hit and miss. Rather a shocking but cool ending to the film. This is a highly entertaining sci-fi fantasy movie with awesome effects, worth a look without doubt.
Conclusion: I enjoyed this Movie, the story was Intriguing, Scary and Suspenseful It is a well made movie with a few very well executed Action Set pieces. Nicolas Cage was good in the role, but a little too everyman. The Ending of the movie is coming in for some Slack and I can see why. The film just seems to end too quickly with what seems like a lame ending. But without giving too much away, I found it refreshing to see a movie where the ending is not neat and tidy.
