Blu-Ray Review: Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

Brutal as Hell
23 September 2014
  • Excerpt: Killer Klowns from Outer Space is not a good film, but for those of my generation it certainly invokes a certain amount of nostalgia. This was definitely one of those titles that was popular in the playground when I was at school; I think the title along with the ridiculous plot, mind-blowing set pieces and tame levels of violence contributed to it being a huge hit amongst kids in the late 80s and now as a cult curiosity amongst horror aficionados.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space

Rock! Shock! Pop!
26 September 2012
  • Summary: Killer Klowns From Outer Space hold up surprisingly well and if for some reason the music video that as on the DVD is missing from this Blu-ray, the improved transfer and low MSRP are going to be reason enough for most fans to want to snag this one, as it’s otherwise a very good release of a fun, quirky movie.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space

High-Def Digest
20 September 2012
  • Conclusion: From the Chiodo Brothers, 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space' is a farcical tribute to the sci-fi B-horror movies of the 1950s and 1960s, but intentional exaggerate the nonsense to the level outrageous slapstick silliness. Cliché-ridden and hysterical absurd, the film comes with a very dark, twisted sense of humor that's bizarrely lighthearted and animated.
