Excerpt: Finally, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World got a near perfect release, the extended version presented in HD, packed with lots of extras, and so many other reasons to own this release! For PQ, the general release version is perfect, clean and clear, 5 out of 5! For the extended version, the part in general release version is the same, however the extended part does not look so good, it has more scratches and spots, and is more indistinct. 3.5 out of 5.
Excerpt: not so much a restoration as a labor of love putting back what has been cut. I found it fascinating how the trims were put back into place and restored as best as possible. a solid 3.5 out of 5 for me. the sound was very good as well, even in the reconstructed trims.
A comedy classic, but one that needs further restoration.

Excerpt: The other viewers have pointed out the excellent quality of the film, image, and sound. I'm here to talk about the running time and MGM/UA's preservation practices. This is the cut-down general release version of the film. A partially restored "director's cut" was issued on VHS and Laserdisc years ago, but because the film elements were deemed to be in too poor a condition for DVD, the short version was the only one included on the DVD when that was released 10 or so...
Excerpt: I saw this film when it was originally released back in 1963. It was showing at the Cinerama Theater in Boston. I'm very disappointed in this blu ray release. Not for any technical issues, but rather for the fact that some knuckle head decided to cut the film from it's original 210 min to 159 min!!! What the hell is that all about?? A lot of actors mentioned in the opening credits are just not there. Magic?....nope...Stupidity!
Excerpt: This is one hell of a comedy. Some of the stunts are quite unbelievable. Great fun! I will get right to it: PQ: This one is nearly perfect. Aside from occasional specks, or small lines, and other minor and almost never distracting print damages, this presentation is faultless. I spotted no serious compression-related artifacts of any kind. Detail is fantastic!!! Clarity is excellent. Black levels are deep and inky, as they should be, and contrast is nicely balanced.
Excerpt: Great all time classic that still holds up today. My 31 year old roommate, even though unfamiliar with most of the cast, was still laughing out loud. That is the mark of a timeless classic. I could go on and on about how great I feel this movie is but l'll just describe it as this- It is an epic just like Ben Hur or The Ten Commandments. The PQ: WOW!!!! I have seen this film in all of it's formats except CED and it has never ever looked so good.
