Excerpt: Great martial arts donnie yen is fantastic, with a very good story along with some great martial arts this film is going to be a classic.Picture quality goes from great to ok in patches ,audio good to middling. All martial arts fans will enjoy this.
Excerpt: I just wrote an entire review for this and lost it due to a submission error, so I'm going to be brief. The picture is so unsaturated that the film occasionally has a black-and-white appearance to it, but otherwise the picture reveals an adequate level of detail. The audio is active and thunderous on my surround sound speakers.
Excerpt: Being very weary of the majority of "kung-fu" releases of late it is a real pleasure to run across a film like Ip Man. The story is very well structured and balanced. There is a nice mix of martial arts, drama and biography material presented. The characters are developed and allow you to really feel for them and the struggles they are going through. The periods in between the fights can sometimes feel a bit slow however. The fight scenes are spaced apart pretty well.
Best Kung Fu Movie i've Seen in long time Very very Nice !

Excerpt: Martial Arts Fan will love this movie. A must have collection. Heard the buzz about this movie and saw the trailer. Had to get, but waited for Blu-ray version. I'm very happy with this purchase. PQ better than standard DVD not by much but still good. Grain does appear throughout film but story will suck you in and leave you wanting more. I'm not a Donnie Yen fan but this film changed my mind great action and acting. Watched three times already and still can't get enough.
Excerpt: Nicely presented film both with video and audio. Sharp details on screen and high quality audio. My only gripe about this release is the disc is region locked to region A. It's a shame that the rest of the world can't see this film as this movie has high potential for the martial arts genre. Looking forward to the next chapter coming 2010.
Excerpt: This director is awesome, he also did Flashpoint which is another kick-ass action movie... But this one beats it... IP Man is the master who taught Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen played an excellent role... His blazing fast punches are amazing, his moves are precise, his technique is unique, his kung fu looks authentic... The movie was excellent and is based on a true story. As for the Picture Quality, disappointed for a big movie like this... Some scenes just look horrible...
