  • Conclusion: How to Train Your Dragon is a very good movie, probably even DreamWorks Animation's best. I can't pretend I'm itching to see a sequel, but I can appreciate this original one, which improves on a second viewing.

How to Train Your Dragon: Collector’s Edition

BluRay Authority
20 May 2014
  • Excerpt: Ever since the inception of the computer-generated movie, it’s somewhat ignited (or re-ignited) the genre. Now the genre I’m referring to is traditional animation, of course as you can’t re-ignite something that never existed before. Pixar is obviously the front runner when it comes to these types of movies, but other studios like Dreamworks and Fox have hopped on board with their own films.

  • Conclusion: Is the computer-animated film home to the next great wave of movies? Studios like Pixar and DreamWorks just can't seem to miss, and it's hard to find another genre or style that's cranked out as many successes as this. How to Train Your Dragon is just the latest in a string of computer-generated film that have not only dazzled with their incredible visuals, but entertained through pitch-perfect stories that find just the right balance between humor and heart.

  • Conclusion: To put it in its most simple terms, 'How to Train Your Dragon' is a must own. That's about all there is to it. It's by far one of if not the best efforts from Dreamworks Animation we've seen to date. It's also one of the best looking and sounding Blu-ray releases of the year. This is one that parents and children will be able to enjoy and that's always a plus.

How to Train Your Dragon Review

DoBlu
15 October 2010
  • Excerpt: Okay Hollywood, you win. It is actually possible to make anything cute via animation. Cars can be adorable, robots affectionate, toys memorable, and dragons, uh, darling (?). Toothless, the friendly critter in How to Train Your Dragon , is as likable as they come. Forget the stock viking characters, each living up to a predictable, normal cliché. The sidekick, the love interest, the misunderstanding parental unit… it’s all been done.

Review: How to Train Your Dragon

The 8th Circuit
31 March 2010
  • Excerpt: This is the year of Jay Baruchel. If you don’t know who he is go watch Fanboys right away. In this year alone he will appear in She’s Out of His League , Sorcerer’s Apprentice , and our film today: How to Train Your Dragon . Typecast like Michael Cera, Baruchel always plays the down and out nerd. But, unlike Michael Cera, I find him lovable in his portrayal of the outsider.
