HOP

Family Friendly Gaming
2 February 2013
  • Excerpt: HOP is a movie based on the Easter bunny. An entire world of talking bunnies, and chicks is opened up in this movie. EB is going to inherit the magical mantle of delivering candy to children of the world. He wants to be a drummer in a rock band, so he flees his family obligation. He runs into Fred who happens to be an unemployed stay at home young adult. Who has little motivation to get his life back on track.

Hop (Blu-ray Review)

whysoblu.com
3 April 2012
  • Conclusion: This is a cute kids movie that has a game cast that helps it appeal to both children and adults alike.  The movie isn’t very ambitious but its a pleasant enough way to spend time with your kids without the usual pain some of these kid movies engender for adult.  The Blu-ray offers pretty good audio and picture quality but more time should have been spent on the extras.

Hop Review

DoBlu
28 March 2012
  • Excerpt: Hop teaches kids that it’s okay to eat rabbit poo. After all, it tastes like watermelon according to the script. Little ones are the curious types, so a bit of an adventure in poo eating isn’t all that different than smearing a pet turtle in green slime and waiting for a ninja to pop out. What? You never did that? STOP JUDGING ME! Anywho, Hop sets up its predictable hijinks in the cliched manner of every kids movie.

  • Conclusion: By a process of elimination, Hop may be the most kid-friendly Easter movie out there. But it is, just as it looks, a routine family comedy on the order of The Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks , big on slick commercial value and small on lasting artistic worth.

Hop Blu-ray Review

BigPictureBigSound
22 March 2012
  • Excerpt: The Movie Did you know that the Easter Bunny was basically Santa Claus, except he lives on Easter Island instead of at the North Pole and delivers baskets of sweets rather than toys? I didn't either, but apparently it's true: He operates a secret candy factory run by magical chicks and flies around on Easter Eve in a bird-drawn sleigh. Weird, right? And I thought I wouldn't learn anything from watching Hop .

DVD Verdict
21 March 2012
  • Excerpt: E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand, Get Him to the Greek ) is next in line to be one of the world's most powerful and beloved figures: The Easter Bunny. Alas, E.B. has little interest in such an intimidating role. He'd rather just play the drums all day long. So, E.B. runs away from home, takes up residence with a human slacker named Fred O'Hare (James Marsden, Enchanted ) and determines to win a talent competition being judged by David Hasselhoff ( Baywatch ).

Hop Blu-ray Review

blu-ray.com
9 March 2012
  • Conclusion: Hop is the hollow chocolate bunny in Illumination Entertainment's Easter basket. It looks tasty at first glance, but there's nothing beneath its sugary, milk-chocolaty shell. As uninspired as it is unfunny, it will leave kids giggling but leave parents groaning and wishing they had exercised better judgment.

Hop

High-Def Digest
9 March 2012
  • Conclusion: So it's Easter time and you'd like to get your kids something. How about a basket full of candy? Whatever you do, don't get them 'Hop' unless you want to have to queue up a rabbit pooping jelly beans again and again. Kids will laugh at that part. They might laugh through the entire thing, but that doesn't mean the movie is any good, just that we've come to expect less from live-action movies mixed with animation. Much, much less.

HOP - Blu-ray review

moviemet.com
7 March 2012
  • Summary: "Hop" has a lot in common with the chocolates and candies that are usually passed around on Easter Sunday. It's brightly colored, overly sweet, and not very nutritious.
