Excerpt: Homeland is a fantastic BD viewing experience. No problems with the PQ or AQ. Claire Danes and Damien Lewis are phenomenal. Homeland had me hooked from the beginning and I was never bored. Mandy Patinkin was solid in his supporting role. I would highly recommend this BD if you can get it for under $30.
Summary: Bought this Homeland season 1 from Zavvi at a bargain give away price. This series will have you on the edge of your seat. You`ll want to watch episode after episode as you want to know what happens next. Miss this if you dare.
Conclusion: ok lets start with the basic plot..an american solider who has been captured and held by the al-qaeda for eight years and now released and returned to his homeland and family.. but the story is has he now been converted to thinking in the same way as the enemy..if your looking for an action series you need to look elsewhere as this is a slow burning story of a man coming to terms with being home but choosing between his family duty and beliefs..
Conclusion: When it come to Homeland you can believe the hype. This is one of the smartest TV shows to hit the screen in years. The plot twists and turns so much you are pulled from one side to another cleverly leaving you not knowing if to trust Brody (Excellent Damien Lewis) or thinking it's paranoia on the behalf of CIA agent Carrie Mathison (equally good Clair Danes) once the plot strands start linking the show grips like a vice and never lets up until the final episode.
Summary: Late starter as far as this drama goes. Heard so many people raving about how good it is as the second season approached airing on tv.
Thought I should see what all the fuss is about.
To be perfectly honest I am now addicted, watch 9 of the 12 episodes in two days and am going to finish this season today before using catch up tv and viewing season 2 episodes aired to date.
Summary: This show is the new 24, and is a fantastic, gripping and emotional thriller
The character of Brody and the twists and turns of how he was captured and how he was turned - or was he truly turned, is there a hidden agenda of some kind?
Also with Carrie (the female version of Jack Bauer) being more damaged and Bi-polar, putting the fragments together and the emotional acid trip of a journey she is on and how it relates to the journey of Brody and his family!
Summary: Season 1 of Homeland is excellent viewing. It has a very gripping storyline and shows situations from all points of view. It also delves into the personal lives of the main characters, showing how their vulnerability changes the course of their actions (without sayng too much to spoil the storyline). I thoroughly and higlhly recommend HOMELAND and I am now eagerly awaiting Season 2.
