Excerpt: For me it's definitely the best. Gory, funny, over the top, dark, and Canadian?! SOLD! The image quality is great, and the colors are like nothing you've seen before. It's like hi-def filmed in the 70s! Not for the faint of heart or those fond of children living through an entire movie...
Excerpt: I'm a bit shocked I didn't enjoy this. I mean, I'm a huge fan of the spoof grindhouse movies like Planet Terror, Machete, and even some true grindhouse movies from the 70's. Some problems I had with this film were several scenes end up feeling like they drag on. For example some of the more dialog driven scenes should have been cut far shorter. To make this problem feel worse, some of the action scenes feel like they didn't last long enough.

Excerpt: Hobo with a shotgun is pure bloody, popcorn b movie, smash your head open fun. That's not to say it's perfect in all of it's grindhouse infused nature, but it very simply delivers the goods and you can't ask for much more then that. I thought the villains were a little too over the top acting like they new exactly what kind of movie there were in but at the same time it all fit.
Excerpt: The Movie Hobo With A Shotgun is gruesome, sickening, twisted, disturbing, absurd and gory. Those are just a few words to sum up this over-the-top, yet very entertaining movie. Similar movies to Hobo With A Shotgun would be Machete and Planet Terror, but Hobo stretches further and actually manages to be crazier than those two movies believe it or not.
Excerpt: I loved this movie. If you're a fan of Troma or the faux (and real) grindhouse fare, this flick's for you. Violent, action-packed and hilarious. Rutger Hauer is a revelation as the Hobo with a shotgun. The all-Canadian cast is a hoot, especially the villains. This is the Troma film Troma's forgotten how to make. It really is the best effort out of all of the faux-Grindhouse movies. Superior to PLANET TERROR and MACHETE, and destroying the likes of DEATH PROOF.
Excerpt: I love this movie!!! Wall to wall carnage at it's best. Rutger Hauer is killer as a Hobo trying to make a new start in a new city. Abby(Molly Dunsworth) as the hooker with of heart of gold who helps the hobo when things got of hand. The video presentation is excellent bright neon colors like it appeared in theatres and DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack will rock your surround sound system get ready for the ride!!

Excerpt: I've always been a huge fan of 70's and 80's grindhouse (exploitation). Even really loved some of the "homage" films like Death Proof and The Devil's Rejects. Hobo ranks up in top, in this genre. It embraces itself to the fullest extent, giving way to a blood soaked, gore ridden funhouse, that doesn't let up. Rutger Hauer dominates his role. And the directing is greatly executed. I highly, highly recommend this film to fans of this type of movie making.
Summary: This is a review for the film, as the DVD is preorder only and I have no idea how the bonus features will be. I went to a screening of this film in New York. This was the film that Machete wanted to be, and even better, in my opinion, than both of the Grindhouse films (Planet Terror, Death Proof) in heart, intention, and effort towards creating a film that lovingly recreates the look, feel, and fun of a late 70s to mid 80s exploitation film.
