  • Excerpt: The split may be controversial but the movie is good. Plus it looks and sounds great.

Lacks the Magic of the Previous Entries

  • Excerpt: After viewing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I declared it the worst of the Potter films so far. It was quickly replaced, however, by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Still, when all was said and done, I enjoyed the films, as they still managed to mostly display what had made the more entertaining predecessors so enjoyable.

Two and a half hours of nothing.

  • Excerpt: Here we go. The movie is like a balloon. Full of nothing but air. This movie shows itself off as big and sophisticated, when it's anything but. Oh great, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint can get into an argument on-screen; I think I smell Academy Awards around the corner. It is so horribly paced, it feels like it's afraid to move from that one spot in the woods. Think about it, what was achieved by the end of the film? Did the characters develop? No.

  • Summary: Slow-moving, but this character driven entry delivers just as much as any great thriller would. Great performances by Radcliffe and Watson.

Can you say "Crosstalk" really fast 3 times?

  • Excerpt: Well, guess what. There is a TON of ghosting going on in this movie. What a huge disappointment. I like the HP movies very much and when the ad stated it was going to be released in 3D, I went bezerk. I was so excited to watch this in 3D. I sat down, grabbed a bucket of popcorn and an orange crush, prop up my feet and clicked the start play button. After the title had appeared, the crosstalk started and didn't stop until the end of the movie.

The Beginning of the end in 3D

  • Excerpt: Movie: most people would of already seen the film so there really isn't much for me to say my opinion is that it really gets you pumped for the final film before abruptly cutting into end credits Deathly Hallows part 1 is very enjoyable. Video: as this is a very dark film not a lot of color is shown vibrantly on screen but it has strong use of blacks but nothing spectacular. 3D: now I was going to talk about the 3D as there are plenty 2D reviews on the 2D release.

HP final part 1

GMLSKIS, blu-ray.com
4 February 2012
  • Excerpt: This was a late blind buy for me trying to wait for part 2 and thinking there would be a combo pack of both parts together. I was very impressed with part 1 and couldn't wait to watch part 2. You get an impressive PQ and AQ as you would expect at this point in the story line. The first disk has the movie and 19 minutes worth of extras. The extras disc is just under 1 hour which is a waste of space. Included is a DVD copy and a digital copy.
