Summary: This one just took itself way too serious. Plays like a 'Jurassic Park' knockoff and the effects don't even hold up as good as that film. It's just a dumb disaster movie down to it's core, with no redeeming factors.
Summary: The only interesting and scary part of this film was the egg nest laid in Madison Square Garden. Everything else is pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo, shoddy special effects, and some forced and sappy romantic moments.
Excerpt: When a mutant lizard attacks New York City, Dr. Niko Tatopoulos (Matthew Broderick) tries to study the creature and learn how to stop it in the American re-imagining of “Godzilla.” From the director of “Independence Day” and later “The Patriot” comes Roland Emmerich’s vision of a monster from a movie series he doesn’t even like. What’s more is the studio let him do whatever he wanted with it, thus enraging fans and even non-fans of the original Japanese films.
