Another disappointing BD from the Marilyn collection
21 February 2013
Excerpt: I have given such low scores for A/V quality because the amount of DNR used here was excessive and should not have been used AT ALL. I would rate it higher, but this kind of revisionism is not acceptable. The audio should have been left as 1.0 lossless mono. A remix was unnecessary. A lack of extras also drags this release down. Overall, a great musical, a poor BD. Buy only at dirt-cheap prices.
Movie holds up well on an otherwise disappointing Blu-ray
17 December 2012
Excerpt: After nearly 60 years, the movie still holds up well. Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell are solid as the film's two leads and the movie has some considerable charm. The video leaves something to be desired. Colors are vivid and vibrant but the transfer has received a moderate dose of digital noise reduction. Faces and costumes look smudged and lack detail and there's no grain to speak of.
