Summary: I love Blu Ray...which is why I made this purchase of course. Problem is there are times when the picture and sound just dont live up to my expectations. This was NOT one of those times. The picture and sound are flawless, I really have no issue at all with it. As far as the story is concerned, not unless you have been living under a rock, you probably know by now not to fall in a love with a character.
Pros: Engaging Characters, Entertaining, Great Cinematography, High Production Value, Original
Excerpt: This show is an instant classic. Great stories, Great Characters and the production values is though the roof. Each episode ended like a cliffhanger and I couldn't stop until I watched all 10 episodes. This is a testament to the masterful handling of it source material. This is TV at its absolute best. The PQ and SQ is the best that I've seen and heard from any tv show on blu.
Excerpt: Because it's very powerful in almost every aspect. Fans will love it immediately and the rest will simply enjoy it's perfect video and sound quality, as much as plenty of interesting bonus features and the series itself. Worth purchasing - even if you're not a fantasy geek.
Excerpt: HBO has become the one cable network that excels at original series that stay true to source material whether it was a made up screenplay or adapted from books. Just look at the excellent track record thus far... From the Earth to the Moon Deadwood Band of Brothers The Pacific Boardwalk Empire to name a few and of course Game of Thrones. This 10 episode season one is filled with excellent acting and storytelling of the complicated lives of seven realms.
Excerpt: After viewing only 3 episodes, i pre-ordered this set, and i rarely order tv shows. After viewing the full season, its a freakin masterpiece of a show. The cinematrography and storytelling is on the level of something more cinematic and really feels more than it is. The video: woah.....just WOW. shockingly clear and crisp. i cant find any faults in it.
A damn-good way to spend 10 hours! And one hell of a series!

Excerpt: I went into this series with almost no expectations. My main draw was Sean Bean and the medieval/fantasy elements. Little did I know how fantastic it would turn out to be. This show bathes in the mythology of the novels in which it's based upon, and soaks up every detail. It is a dark and faithful adaptation of the "Song of Ice & Fire" series, and I hope they can draw enough viewers to bring the entire series of books to the small-screen.
Excerpt: From the reviews, I went ahead and purchased it. It has turned out to be one of my favorite blu-rays. The whole story line is compelling full of deception and honor with clever strategy throughout the series. There were plenty of significant events that made it intriguing as I watched. Not one episode was dull. I also like the fact that there were different story lines that kept the mix going with all the Houses involved. As for PQ, no expense spared....
