Summary: If you have seen the trailer and gone ahead and bought or rented the movie, then you know what to expect. This isn't Bergman's The Seventh Seal, or Welles Citizen Kane. It is what it is, a funny family movie with lots of forest critters causing trouble for Brendon Fraser. Of course Brendon has done better more artful movies, of course he's done more adult-themed action, but why all the hate for this movie?
Excerpt: Ignore the comments above. They have a complete lack of a sense of humour. Brendan Fraser and most of the cast that provide the comedy are absolutely hilarious. How Brenda Fraser pulls it off I don't know because it shouldn't happen; he is so over-weight; and I absolutely believe he did that deliberately for the role. Brooke Shields gives an acting performance that is reference level. I've never seen anything like it. So serious, believable. Natural.
Summary: My two grandchildren (ages 6 and 5) were very excited about this movie, "Papa, it was soooo funny". Their parents called it a perfect movie for young children because it was a nice, warm and entertaining family fare.
