Reviews and Problems with Doctor Who: Series 6 Christmas Special - The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe
Showing 1-5 of 5
The best Doctor since it all began 50 years ago ???
3 June 2013
Summary: I remember watching the very first episode of Dr Who one Saturday evening back around 1963, starring William Hartnell. I have seen all the subseqquent Doctors and I have to say that Matt Smith gets my vote as the Best Ever Doctor, with Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee coming in as next bests. Matt Smith is the youngest and therefore I firmly expected him to be the worst, even worse than the dreadful McCoy. How wrong I was.
Summary: i like the new doctor he is very intresting doctor. i dont think he over acts at all. he comes over as a doctor who never frightens a child. i love the acting its what doctor is. got intrested in the program after i saw this doctor i enjoyed it was not too frightening. just right for anyone to enjoy.
Summary: i try watching this at christmas i fell a sleep 2 or 3 time i watched it and i thought there were some good parts and some not so great and i think steven moffett should look at old doctor who and get some more ideas and bring some old caricktor back like the rani and salermander !!
Summary: Utter dross proving that this is just a brand now rather than quality drama. Smith is terrible as he overacts and comes across as nothing more than a hyperactive annoyance who is well overdue for a regeneration. I watched this with friends who appreciate I am a huge Doctor Who fan and after this tortuous duration held my head in shame.
Conclusion: This was much better than the 2010 Christmas special, a good hearted family Christmas tale with some elements of the lion the witch and the wardrobe thrown in, theres nothing major in the way of action and it lacked a good villain but I guess its for kids, it has nothing on the excellent sixth series, but overall it was funny and has the usual wit from Matt Smith to carry it along smoothly, its probably best to wait for the seventh series box set to get it though rather...
