Summary: A revenge movie that is well acted and filmed but unfortunately the plot has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese. We are expected to believe that an engineer whose wife and daughter have been killed by mobsters can identify and infiltrate the gang that ordered the killing. We are also expected to believe that he can bug the phones of all the involved gangsters and also has enough training to be an weapons expert.
Summary: Typical Colin Farrell film some of his films have been a fantastic hit, but this is definitely a miss. The wife and I got bored and turned it off and we have watched a lot of Action / Thrillers
Excerpt: Dead Man Down from the trailers looks to be like an intense action/thriller but what we get is a mediocre thriller with less action and more mind games. That doesn't mean that the film is a waste, its just a disappointment. Colin Farrell, Noomi Repace and Terrance Howard give fine performances but the story is also predictable.
Summary: Victor works as a henchman for a gangster called Alphonse, doing his dirty work for him. However he is not what he seems and has infiltrated the criminal gang in order to get closer to Alphonse. The order of the day is Victor's revenge for a terrible event that Alphonse was responsible for 2 years previously.
Summary: The story is ok, the acting is ok, the characters are believable, but the film is completely let down by the photgraphy. Once again a director of photgraphy thinks it is great to film almost the entire film in the dark, even when it is during the day. What is wrong with these people. Films should carry warnings about this so people who like to see what is going on can choose to avoid these things. All it is is cheapness and lack of ability.
Summary: Ah, revenge - you'll can never go wrong with sweet, sweet revenge. Noomi Rapace gives the better performance, though Colin Farrell does admirably as well. A few twists here and there, but nothing Earth-shattering - but if you want a little revenge action - it should fill the void.
