Excerpt: With a perfect cast, perfect characters, and perfect and exciting trailer what could have gone wrong? Well sadly, everything. Dark shadows is very hard to follow. Half the time, you don't even know what's going on . I don't think the characters do either. It is full of filler/fluff and way to much is going on at the same time.It is a train wreck. The set up and intro was great, but after that it went downhill.
Excerpt: I wasn't really expecting that much from this movie so it did not really disappoint as such but even still it's really hard to recommend a purchase of the film as i believe one viewing will be plenty unless your a real fan of Depp. It's not terrible so i would say get it out as a rental first and make up your own mind whether its worth a purchase. But on the plus side the picture quality is top notch really great and the sound quality is also right up there.
Summary: eva green is fantastic as the witch. depp is as likebale as ever as a vampire. but the movie had a very basic script where not much happened. and wasn't funny at all. its the adams family meets death becomes her meets interview with a vampire. but not half as good as any of those three. shame.
Summary: Er... It was okay. Music was awesome, cinematography and design superb, but the characters were sooo cold. I didn't care for any of them. In my opinion, that is the most awful thing that can happen, that you do not care not a bit for what will happen to them. Some scenes and dialogues were funny, true, but the laugh was rather contrived, because we were supposed to chuckle, but no real emotions were involved.
Excerpt: If you haven’t noticed, there’s sort of a big vampire craze going on right now in the entertainment industry, so you can’t really blame Tim Burton and Johnny Depp for their attempt at joining in the fun. If you are hung up on your undead being of the sparkly and smoldering variety, however, you’ll have to stick with Young Adult fiction-----these characters are darker and a little less likely to end up on a poster on your tween daughter’s bedroom door.
Summary: One definitely for the fans - story had potential, but ended up losing steam. Depp, as always, is in top form, Pfeiffer - well suited to her role, Jonny Lee Millers character was never fully formed which was a shame. Costumes and makeup were great (although at some points distracting), score and music was spot on!
Summary: Great acting from a stellar cast and fantastic special effects could not make up for the script. Still an enjoyable movie, but I was left with a feeling that it could have been so much better.
