Excerpt: An 18th century aristocrat is cursed by a spurned lover and awakens as a vampire in the 1970s. Tim Burton returns to his familiar formula with his usual ensemble collaborators in a film that draws very much from the teen Goth playbook.
Excerpt: With a perfect cast, perfect characters, and perfect and exciting trailer what could have gone wrong? Well sadly, everything. Dark shadows is very hard to follow. Half the time, you don't even know what's going on . I don't think the characters do either.
Excerpt: I wasn't really expecting that much from this movie so it did not really disappoint as such but even still it's really hard to recommend a purchase of the film as i believe one viewing will be plenty unless your a real fan of Depp.
Summary: eva green is fantastic as the witch. depp is as likebale as ever as a vampire. but the movie had a very basic script where not much happened. and wasn't funny at all. its the adams family meets death becomes her meets interview with a vampire. but not half as good as any of those three. shame.

Excerpt: If you haven’t noticed, there’s sort of a big vampire craze going on right now in the entertainment industry, so you can’t really blame Tim Burton and Johnny Depp for their attempt at joining in the fun.
Summary: Er... It was okay. Music was awesome, cinematography and design superb, but the characters were sooo cold. I didn't care for any of them. In my opinion, that is the most awful thing that can happen, that you do not care not a bit for what will happen to them.
Summary: It was okay. It started off good, but then there was too many plot lines and back stories, and it kind of fell apart. It was very rushed, and the characters seemed very superficial. It was like they were trying to cram years of a TV show into one 2 hour movie.
Summary: I will start this review on a good note, but warning, everything isn't peachy! Johnny Depp, of course, was wonderful as Barnabas. In fact, everyone was great as their characters! (Eva Green as Angelique was a delight; so different from anything I've ever seen this actress in before!
