  • Summary: After the murder of his father and the destruction of his village, Conan the Cimmerian vows to avenge the deeds and travels across Hybrid, finding allies and enemies along the way. This movie has mindless gory and stupid characters.

A Classic Sword And Sorcery Epic

Nolane, FilmCrave
4 September 2013
  • Excerpt: Long before "Game Of Thrones" and its R-Rated fantasy trappings came "Conan The Barbarian" - still an all time classic sword and sorcery movie. Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfect in the title roll and will forever be Conan. The supporting cast, led by a scene stealing performance by James Earl Jones is also first rate. The screenplay by John Millius and none other than Oliver Stone is filled with great memorable lines.

  • Summary: I see a lot of reviews that just aren't helpfull. I'm not going to explain what the story is, I'm going to tell you what the dvd version is like. First of all, if you own an old copy on vhs, you will think you are watching a new movie. This is the best you are going to see this movie.

An adrenaline rush!

MovieAddict, FilmCrave

  • Excerpt: Man, is it violent…for one split second I thought I was watching a Tarantino flick…a plus in my book mind you! The movie opens with a nice gore soaked battle taking place and a grizzled Corin (Ron Perlman) slitting the womb of his wife to deliver his son who would be Conan. Predictably she dies and Corin rises Conan by himself. Then we see Conan as a teenager. I absolutely loved Leo Howard as young Conan with his pretty yet snarling face.

  • Summary: It was alright. Not one of Arnold's greatest films. Too many sex scenes for my taste.

  • Summary: This swords and sorcery comic book epic is strangely slow paced and thoughtful, concentrating more on surreal imagery and mysticism than action. To this day, I still don't really know what to make of it!

Better then Arnie's version????

Lee, FilmCrave

  • Excerpt: Being a fan of the original starring Arnold Scwartzenegger I was a little skeptical about watching this version as remakes in my mind usually suck! I'm always glad when i follow my gut instincts and decided to watch the film as i not only enjoyed it i found it better then the original!! And that my freinds is extremly rare! The storyline in the reboot i found told more then its predecessor. Mostly of the beginnings of Conan's life.

  • Summary: Let's face it - this is not a movie you go into with high expectations. It's all action, Jason Momoa looking angry (I was honestly waiting for him to turn green and go SMASH) and scarred. Rose McGowan is all weird and gothy and too much forehead. It's entertaining, but empty - all bark with no bite.

  • Summary: One of best fantasy film ever. It is dark, much darker than star wars and lord of the rings, but it is not depressing it is tough. You can even say inspiring. It has very strong images and great soundtrack. Schwarzenegger is very convincing as man who survives in this tough world. Maybe it isnt as perfect as Lord of the rings but i love fantasy and just have to give it 4 stars.
