Summary: I wish I had super powers ok this is chronicle now is this film good or Bad well I can say that it's so far the best movie of 2012. I enjoyed this film some parts are like cloverfield am going to give this a 4/4 stars "Great movie".
Excerpt: When i saw the original trailer for this film i thought the concept looked cool enough. You have three highschool kids who accidentally stumble upon a meteroite of some form. Cool as that is it gets much cooler as they all discover they now possess super powers mostly of the telekinetic variety. So i threw my money down and purchased the dvd upon its release and damn!!!! What i did not expect to get in return was one hell of a movie!
Excerpt: I loved Chronicle!! From a film-making perspective I thought it was very well-made, but the entertainment level is extremely high. The characters are fully fleshed out, the script is beautifully written by Max Landis, and it includes excellent breakthrough performances from the 3 main actors and the writer and director as well. The found-footage thing isn't used as a gimmick here, and the action and visual effects fit in with this type of camera work perfectly.
Summary: It take a while to adjust to the found footage style of storytelling, which often cuts mid-scene and plays with unique camera perspectives. The film presents an intriguing perspective on the usual super hero origin story. The scenes where the friends are testing their newfound powers are among the film's best, as the exuberance of discovery that one can fly, move objects telepathically, etc. is captured energetically.
Conclusion: A pretty good film all in all. Takes everything away from the stylish 'Super Hero' movies that are out there now. Don't get me wrong, Avengers Assemble etc are cool but this is filmed in a way of being more real life and the consequences that come with such power. A decent watch indeed!!!!
Summary: the only thing bad about this movie was dolby digitals new logo. it is in the realism genre though so many people may get sick of the handy-cam, but, all that aside it rocked. an 'm' but still graphic enough to give a little intensity at times. I don't think shakespeare could have put a better ending to an obvious plot (which was fantastic) cataclysmicly finnishing (i'm being serious) in an epic exit full of great direction and s.f.x.
Summary: I often feel that having believable and sympathetic characters is the main factor that raises a film from average to great, and Chronicle certainly achieved this. From the beginning, you can clearly picture those sorts of guys in an average American high school. What I didn't expect from the film was the amount of humour (well, more at the beginning) which actually made it quite fun, as opposed to something like Cloverfield which was darker throughout.
Summary: I'll be the first to admit that going into this Flicks preview, I wasn't expecting Chronicle to be all that great. The trailers hadn't really done much for me and I worried that the film would struggle to engage lovers of the genre, like myself. Happily I was proven wrong. This is an immensely enjoyable sci-fi with a young director and cast set for big futures.
