Summary: I totally agree with Chris Stuckmann on this movie.ightning McQueen, teamed with Mater, goes on an international tour to race some of the fastest cars in the world. This movie sucks with out no doubt, the movie felt boring and it lacks on the story which is a disappoint.
Excerpt: Before having my own children it was like squeezing water out of stone to get me to sit down and watch anything Disney had to offer. That was up until Pixar CGI animation studios was invented. Now i can't get enough of them and it's me folks...yes me that is actually dragging my kids to see it and not vice versa. Cars is no exception as i enjoyed it and found myself enjoying the second part all the more.
Summary: Overloaded cast, jets that make them faster and iffy one liners. It's plot tried to be too Bond-ish and the heart and charm of the first just dwindled. This was like viewing a videogame instead of a film. Kids will like this flick but I have a feeling film aficionados and animation lovers would be somewhat disappointed. This was pure excess compared to the first installment. Cars 2 may be eye-candy, story-wise and lack of interesting characters were definitely evident.
Excerpt: Okay, let me re-explain what you probably know; Cars 2 is widely being considered as Pixar's worst. This is true. It's also being widely considered as a bad film. This is not true. I personally believe this is another great film from Pixar, it just plunges a little more into the Dreamworks tub. The story revolves around Mater, rather than Lightning McQueen, a mixed decision in my opinion. On one hand, Lightning McQueen is a bland character, with little personality.
Summary: Being a big fan of the original Cars movie, my family and I really looked forward to this one. I did love that all the original voices were back. Adding Michael Caine to the cast was an amazing choice. I didn't really care for everything being set in Europe and taking Mater completely out of his element, but it was a fun movie none the less. I may watch it again at some point, but probably never as much as the original Cars.
Summary: The saddest thing about Pixar today is, they don't know what movie they are going to release on their 25th Anniversary since one of their upcoming projects "Newt" was cancelled despite from Blue Sky's Rio plot. Cars 2 feels like it's a direct-to-DVD film. It's not really bad but it's just unnecessary. Though, the action is pretty cool. The kids will enjoy it but the rest is like Rango. Instead of Western Themes, it's Spy movies.
Summary: If you hated Cars, you're probably going to hate this one, but, as someone who felt the original Cars was a fine family film, I enjoyed the characters and humor of this film. The animation is typical stellar Pixar. Yes, it's missing the emotional connectivity and heart of better Pixar films, like Wall-E or Up, but it's still an entertaining ride.
Summary: When I go to see a Pixar movie I expect to be blown away. Cars 2 simply did not. There were many problems with Cars 2, mainly that the story strength just was not there. Yes it did have some funny moments but they were few and far between. The main problem with this movie however was that Pixar made Mater, voiced by Larry the Cable Guy, the main character. After 20 minutes into the movie I wanted to leave because of how annoying he was.
Summary: We went to see Cars 2 with my boys who are 6 years old. We all loved the first movie, it had a simple to follow, heart-warming story and NO VIOLENCE!!! This movie had TONS of violence, guns, "dead" cars, cars getting bashed, burned, tortured. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!? Just because it was cars and not people did you think the kids wouldn't notice? It was a very hard to follow story for them.
