A true, living legend!

  • Summary: Fantastic! A must for all BB fans. It was really interesting to focus on his early life and humble beginnings. So many great artists owe it all to BB like Eric Clapton who adopted the less-is-more philosophy and features in the documentary. I have to say I was moved several times by the humility of such a great artist. There are some nice extras on the Blu-ray with some footage from the 2011 Albert Hall gig and some interviews from other artists.

All praise the King

  • Summary: Shown for one night only in Odeon cinemas, this documentary about blues legend BB King is not bad but is not as interesting as other recent films about Bob Marley or Sixto Rodriguez for example. There are a very large number of performers singing his praises, such as Eric Clapton, the Stones, Ringo Starr, John Mayall, Bono (sounding particularly sycophantic), Bruce Willis and many more. It would have been nice to have heard more of his music though.
