Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Deluxe Edition
14 September 2014
Excerpt: Finally an adaptation on Frank Miller's ground breaking graphic novel. I don't really count that one episode from the DCAU "Legends of the Dark Knight". Peter Weller (Robocop) is perfect for an older Batman and one of the few times it works when Kevin Conroy is not at the helm.
Excerpt: with so many stories to choose from, writer Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns is perhaps the most successful graphic novel about an older batman who comes out of retirement to fight crime in his beloved Gotham one final time.
Excerpt: Im a Big Batman fan but have never been overly interested in the animated form (apart from the 90's series), after reading the review on this site about the deluxe edition I decided to take the plunge as my mate was on holiday in the states and said he could pick it up for me cheap.
Excerpt: Movie: Generally speaking the animation adapts the Frank Miller classics in a faithful way. But of course due to the time limit some important details were missing like the character development of Carrie is clearly not enough.
Excerpt: This animated Batman adventure includes part 1 and 2 (previously released in their own films) combined into one whole movie. For a 2D animated flick, the blu-ray's video and audio quality is quite solid with not many flaws.
