Bad Company: Live at Wembley (Blu-ray)
23 July 2011
Excerpt: "Filmed in high definition at Wembley Arena in April 2010, this Blu-ray captures Bad Company doing what they do best, playing great songs to packed arenas with fantastic energy. Original members of the band, supplemented by Howard Leese on guitars and Lynn Sorensen on bass, deliver a setlist featuring all of the band's classic hit, live fan favorites and some rarely heard gems to create the ultimate Bad Company live experience.
Excerpt: Bad Company 'Til the Day I Die... The Film I remember hearing " Bad Company " for the first time when I was about 11 and thinking that the track was equally as cool as my anthem; the Who's "Behind Blue Eyes". Both songs struck a nerve (which at 11 should have alarmed my parents and teachers) and I would listen to them over and over through a beat-up pair of Sennheiser HD-420 headphones.
Conclusion: Eagle Rock continues to impress with their high quality Blu-rays. Bad Company: Live at Wembley is no exception. The band and all those involved have a great energy and chemistry playing together. This Blu-ray amplifies that. With several audio options and terrific video quality the Bad Company: Live at Wembley is a great release on the high definition format. The only downside is that the special features contain just one interview.
Summary: Earlier this year I picked up a number of rock albums that are becoming more and more difficult to track down. I purchased Jagged Edge U.K.'s Trouble (1990), because I love their cover of Little Richard's "Good Golly Miss Dolly", and the band's superb Fuel for Your Soul (1991). I also picked up an import copy of Giant's debut album Last of the Runaways (1989), which was recently repressed.
