No "future" scenes, but a solid historical drama.

Excerpt: Lineage is a very low budget precursor to the story of Assassin's Creed II, in which Giovanni (Ezio's father) chases a conspiracy within the cities of Italy. At 35 minutes long, the story is a mixed bag of mostly strong material. This production shows a very intense loyalty to the source material, something that has become Ubisoft's trademark in this field, going so far as to film almost the entire short on green screen and use the in-game assets to fill in the world...
Summary: I have never played Assassins Creed but my friends always suggest it to me. While watching it by itself, it has great acting, awesome stunts, and events that were somewhat easy to follow. If you're a fan of the franchise, you'll like it. If you're like me, you might not fully understand it. Now I'm gonna go pick up the games because this movie was very enjoyable!
Excerpt: I'm a pretty casual fan of the Assassin's Creed games, having only played II and Brotherhood. I find much interest in the story, so when I saw this released early at Gamestop stores I quickly picked it up. It's a sort of prequel to Assassin's Creed II, focusing on Ezio's (the game's central character) father, Giovanni. Given the length of the feature (a little over 30 minutes), the story isn't particularly substantial, but it is interesting for what it is.
