Summary: If any actor out there can play a drunk like Dudley Moore can, I'd like to see it. Best line of the movie? "You're a HOOKER? I just thought I was doing GREAT with you." Priceless! Very funny throughout as well as skillfully developing a serious side to it.
Excerpt: I must say I have seen the first Arthur and I really did not enjoy it. Now my cousin bought this one so I went over to his house to watch it with him and loved it! Funny, sweet, and just plain great! The picture was really nice looking but it looked like all WB movies look like.
Excerpt: The Movie I have to say that I am not the biggest Russell Brand fan. In fact, he can be very annoying at times and he was to an extent in this movie as well. Brand plays Arthur in the movie who is a spoiled brat that has done nothing with his life except for live off his mothers' money.
Excerpt: Is it me, or am I the only person that thinks Russell Brand is not funny? This guy hands down is one of the worst comedic actors out there! Bad Story, Bad Acting, Bad Casting, Bad Everything. You ever greenlit this project in Hollywood should be fired.
Summary: This is my all time favorite Comedy Movie. From the beginning to the end Dudley Moore keeps you laughing. At the dinner table when he yells out Hooker! Your'e a Hooker oh I just thought I got lucky. There were some sad parts, and some life lessons, but over all Arthur was a full on laugh.
Summary: I think this is more of a drama than a comedy, but as a portrait of a spoiled, childish man coming into his own, it is extremely well-written. There are some really subtle social class-type jokes, but it isn't laugh out loud funny. For my money, I think that makes it a superior film.
Summary: Arthur is a comedy that easily grows on you on each viewing. It has three charming lead performances, that are all great. The back and fourths between Moore and Gielgud are fantastic, and very funny.
Conclusion: This is a very funny film, Russell brand does a fantastic job as usual in the lead role, lots of funny crazy antics going on, I cant compare it to the original because I have never seen it but I dont think you have to, as well as being hilarious its a charming love story and overall a feel good romp...
Summary: Before seeing this movie i was a bit anxious as to what i was about to see. Was it going to befilm that used Russel Brand to his witty full potential or a shallow piece of crap that used up all the funny in the tailer and had a painfuly generic plot?
