Excerpt: This one of those films that I went in mostly blind; not knowing what exactly it’s going to be about though I show commercials on the TV for it, which can enhance the first-viewing experience. Then again not knowing or reading the source material would make it more challenging to watch and comprehend.
Excerpt: Joe Wright, best known for his adaptations of Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, returns with his most Brechtian and divisive film yet. As opposed to setting the film amongst natural settings, the decision was made to punctuate the innate theatricality with several scenes on a stage. These scenes are actually fascinating and wondrously shot, more than earning it's multiple Oscar nominations.
