Summary: The story is about a secret society long thought died out, has resurfaced in Rome and threatens to destroy the Catholic church. It is up to Robert Langdon to follow the clues and unravel the plot before their plans can come to fruition. This movie is hard to follow and pretty boring.
Summary: ILLUMINATING ANGELS & DEMONS (dir. Dan Hall) This documentary film offers a rather questionable analysis of Dan Brown's best selling mystery- thriller, ANGELS & DEMONS, but it's really only a collection of frivolous speculations and ill conceived assertions about ancient secret organizations and...
Summary: Angels and Demons is a really nice movie with a really good story. It has got lots of twists and thrilling moments. Once again great acting by Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon with good support from other actors as well. The cinematography was good. This is a must watch movie.
Excerpt: The much-anticipated film follow up to Dan Brown’s ‘DaVinci Code’ is actually a prequel to that best selling novel, but the ‘Angels & Demons’ script is deftly tweaked to come off as cinematic sequel instead.
Excerpt: "Robert Langdon" (Tom Hanks) is back, and he has only a few hours to solve a mystery to save thousands of Catholic faithful, and top candidates for role of pope, before an incident which will kill them all as they await the annoucement of who the new leader of the church will be.
Summary: I have a personal bias against puzzle movies, since the characters in them always seem to figure out the puzzles all too quickly and easily. This film has that problem, but it also has a bloated and messy plot. Ron Howard does keep the action moving, but I really wasn't invested in any of it.
Summary: So, I refuse to read these books on the principle that they are way to popular and I did not like the first movie at all. However, Angel & Demons was alright. They cut Tom Hanks' horrible hair. The action seemed to make a bit more sense with the plot, which is a big step up.
Summary: I actually liked this better than the adaptation of The Da Vinci Code - the pacing was much better, even if the book was still better. I still say Hanks was the wrong choice for Langdon, but it works better this time around.
Excerpt: Angels & Demons is the sequel to the 2006 box office phenomenon The Da Vinci Code. You know, that one movie back in the day that had the Vatican ready to declare a crusade on Hollywood, that same movie that brought atheists together saying that their time had at last come, the same movie that was...
Summary: This is the most dissapointing film ever filmed. I loved Dan Browns book and I was certain that producer and lead actor, Tom Hanks, would screw up the adaptation, but holy hell... I can't say to much good about it. Maybe it woulda been better if it actually followed the friggin book.
