Conclusion: When you know the original cut, then watch the extended cut on these Blue ray disks, prepare yourself for an additional half hour of magic! It will clarify some of the things of the original theatrical version. Combine this with a beautiful transfer to Blue Ray, I am so happy with this box set. And for this price on Play.com, don't think! Buy! There is no way you are going to regret buying this item.
Conclusion: I read and saw on unboxings that the Alien Anthology boxset would come in a fold out set with artwork behind the disks but when I received my boxset, it was nothing more than an oversized blu-ray case. Sadly a little dissappointed because the case I expected was an excellent addition to this already outstanding quadrilogy, but not the best.
Conclusion: Bought this and its still the best sci-fi films.Even the 3rd film has grown on me.It comes with a anthology disc and if you go and watch it 3rd title down its all about the 4 films but it was made in the late 90s early 00s.the company that made it is called PROMETHEUS FILMS.
Conclusion: 'Alien' is without a doubt the best transfer of the 4, the PQ is PERFECT and is really how a movie of this age should look on Blu-Ray. In my opinion Alien 3 is the 2nd best transfer and Resurrection is the worst. It looks not much better than a DVD which is a shame considering it has some nice visuals. On the subject of grain, Aliens is defintely the worst culprit. A movie this dark suffers greatly from grain. I would have like to have seen it lessened if not removed.
Conclusion: I bought this as an upgrade to my dvd boxset, I didnt know what the difference between this and the 6 disc blu ray version was, (as the descritpion on the site doesnt tell you much) but you get the 4 films in seperate slim cases with the amazing new artwork (look at the seperate discs on here and youll see what I mean!) Each disc has 2 versions of the film - theatrical and special/directors as well as the extras too.
