How many times can you Die Hard?

  • Excerpt: Probably not as good as the others but still entertaining with an unbelievable chase scene. The movie starts off with 30 seconds of blank screen (WTF). I would fire any film editor who thinks this is a good way to start a movie. The AQ is excellent but the PQ starts off with this color grading technique and dark grainy scenes that I don't go for. Good thing there are lots of good quality scenes mixed in too.

The downward slide continues

  • Excerpt: Let's be realistic, the only classic Die Hard film is the first and the rest have tried hard to emulate this to varying degrees of success. Here the only connection appears to be that Bruce Willis shows up as John McClane and seemingly sleepwalks through the entire film. The initial setup and first 30 minutes or so are actually well-done and intriguing, but once Willis teams up with Courtenay, the film descends into a by-the-numbers action film with plot twists that are...

  • Summary: I bought this at my local Walmart and am disappointed. I didn't know it came with digital copy so I bought it. A week later for a few dollars more it had digital copy. Very bummed because Walmart neglected to have the other.

The worst of the series

invenio, blu-ray.com
3 July 2013
  • Excerpt: Movie: Ok, so this is definitely the worst of the series. It has none of the magic of the original. Getting that out of the way it is a bland, reused story. Hero goes to different country to save family member... blah blah. The acting is pretty terrible, and other than a few large explosions and some slow motion action scenes at the end this was pretty terrible all the way through. One thing that made it borderline unwatchable was the extreme shaky cam.

  • Summary: the movie was ridiculous with all the crazy action scenes. the last two Die Hard movies have been stupid. The only good ones were the very first and the third (with Samuel Jackson). Bruce Willis can get shot, blown up, fall out of VERY high windows, be in car crashes, etc., but he never even seems to get hurt. each movie gets more unbelievable.

  • Summary: Humor is stale. Plot ok with some interesting turns, but wasn't thrill packed like the first, third or fourth films. Watch it on cable.

Just enjoy it

  • Excerpt: I let the obscenely negative reviews influence me and didn't see this in the theater but for $15 I just had to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. If you're thinking of getting this for a great storyline and a plausible plot, look elsewhere. If you're just looking for entertainment, you've found it--just make sure you invite the neighbors before you crank up the surround system.
