  • Excerpt: I could rip “16 Wishes” to shreds. I could detail every single one of the infinitesimal plot points that it steals from other, better, films. Dissect the predicable script, gushy story and cardboard characters. Write paragraphs about its sterile, lifeless direction and plain unimaginative cinematography. I could, but it won’t. Why?

16 Wishes (Blu-Ray)

  • Summary: Apparently, this movie did pretty well in its premiere over at Disney. On that day, it was the most watched cable program of the day gathering over 5.6 million viewers. A further Sunday show got four million more. Debby Ryan is well on her way to Disney stardom (at time of this review, she is working on a movie of her Disney show, The Suite Life ). But unfortunately, this thirty-something kid just couldn’t get into this vat of marshmallow goodness.

  • Excerpt: Abby Jenson (Debby Ryan, The Suite Life on Deck ) turns 16 today. She has a list of 16 wishes for her 16th birthday that she has kept for years. The list includes your basic stuff: a car, meeting her favorite pop star, having her own bathroom and other wishes a typical 16 year old might have. Through the intervention of a mysterious stranger (Anna Mae Routledge, 2012 ), Abby's dreams start to come true one by one.
