Excellent Transfer

thehibbard1, blu-ray.com
18 October 2015
  • Excerpt: How is the Overall Transfer from DVD? Universal Studios did a excellent job on the transfer. Studios can't ensure all transfers are reference quality and sometimes filmmakers, producers or cinematographers wreck their own disks with heavy digital noise reduction. Should I Upgrade?

Thumbs up to this Apollo 13 20th Anniversay Blu ray!

JDub1, blu-ray.com
26 June 2015
  • Excerpt: I remember seeing this in the theatre and thought it was a great film. It looks fantastic on this 20th anniversary Blu ray version. PQ is excellent, very crisp and the colors really pop. The AQ is very good, booming sfx, especially when the astronauts launch into space.

Houston, We Have a Better Picture Quality.....

Guydowood, blu-ray.com
7 June 2015
  • Excerpt: Hard to believe that the film Apollo 13 is 20 years old. As with the official review and the above mentioned comment this new print is pure excellence. It may not be crisp, only because it's shot on film stock, but it is indeed a more detailed and rather natural look.

Apollo 13

kdo, blu-ray.com
10 January 2015
  • Excerpt: Recommended. Note: "Apollo 13" was a visually satisfying theatrical experience. However, like most of the Studio's other Blu-ray releases, this disc is hampered at times by Universal's ugly trademark digital manipulation.

Suspenseful, and Satisfying

FilmCrave
24 February 2013
  • Excerpt: A downfall to creating a film based off of well known true events is that the conclusion is spoiled, therefore, leaving little in the conclusion that is unexpected. Therefore, these kinds of films tend to rely more on the journey to provide the emotional umph, then the actual conclusion.

Great storyline if only it was directed properly!!

FilmCrave
10 August 2012
  • Excerpt: I'll be frank with you all, the only reason i ever gave this film a second thought was due to Jason Stathum being in it. After watching the film it wasn't even worth it even for his performance which wasn't much of one. I was a little confused by the beginning of the storyline here.
