Summary: For the price, without a doubt a killer buy. I've bought the DVD player after Thanksgiving and it's been a great DVD|Blu-ray 3d player on my Sony 240hz Baravia. Loads movies fast and the flawless playback performance.
Summary: First movie I put in after connecting this brand new unit was Narnia-Dawn Treader 3D. I got to see 15 minutes of it before The HDMI output failed. 15 minutes - HDMI dead! Spent 2 more hours trying to figure out what happened. The other video outputs were working, but not the HDMI.
Summary: After hemming and hawing for 3 years I finally pulled the trigger on the bd-s671 hoping it would be at least a little bit better quality than some of the awful, chintzy junk sold for $200 or so. It is a tiny step above a bottom of the barrel LG or Samsung but not by much.
Summary: Avoid the BD-S667 and go for this unit. It is as close as you can get to an Oppo for half the money. I must admit I purchased mine from a different vender(That begins with a A) Save yourself $25 right now.
Pros: The best Blu-ray player I could find for the money. It supports everything except built in wire-less networking. Has 3-D (can disable this function if you don't need it). Very fast load times. Great Netflix-You-Tube software that actually works. Plays disks both Blu-ray and DVDs that my LG-BD550 ...
Cons: Not Cons: I purchased a BD-S667 from Yamaha and had 2 units fail within 8-weeks. Yamaha's customer service stepped up and not only payed for the return shipping of the second bad unit, but they replaced it at my request for a newer model, with no charge or warrenty loss to me. Way to go Yamaha!!
