Not what i expected

aron tintfass, Amazon
27 July 2013
  • Summary: very hard to set up. It needs a purchase of additional component that cost more than the disc player in order to be able to use the WiFi part.

Works but do not expect to use with another remote

elwood "elwood", Amazon
2 September 2012
  • Summary: Dvd works fine but could not get the remote to recognize this product. Toshiba customer support, after 1 hour on phone, was not only awful but also not able to provide the code.

Excellent Blu-Ray playback with dire wifi operation

Amazon Customer, Amazon
22 December 2013
  • Summary: On the plus side the player is compact and attractively designed, playback of both dvd and blu-ray is first rate and at less than £50 it's hard to knock the price. The problems arise if you expect the unit to operate effectively as anything other than a disc player. The wifi connection is prone to dropping out assuming you can make it connect at all.

not for the faint hearted

warren mcleary, Amazon
19 December 2013
  • Summary: After unpacking this I was quite happy till I went to connect it to my TV ,the programing to connect this unit is a nightmare, after contacting this company I was asked to phone Toshiba helpline direct, well for a start the help line numbers at a prime cost so i didn't bother as we all know the time it takes. The unit was sent back for a refund.

Frustrating operating

Mr. J. J. E. Brown "Jonny", Amazon
22 September 2013
  • Summary: While the quality of the playback is excellent, the blu-ray unit itself is one of the worst I've ever had. The remote control is next to useless. Unless you are within a metres range it barely works. The unit turns itself on automatically when I turn the TV on meaning I have to switch it off. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue but as the remote is rubbish, I have to go up and turn it off. Also it doesn't turn off right away.

Freezes constantly

Mr. Christopher, Amazon
3 June 2013
  • Summary: Before ordering this item, I did a bit of research on it and found that the biggest problem is that it would freeze and has to be unplugged to be reset. I ignored those reviewers because I just thought they didn't really know what they were doing. I was wrong in doing so. The first month I had this player I experienced it freezing once. I thought to myself that it wasn't uncommon and would probably happen infrequently.

Poor build and poor playback

Will Hay, Amazon
17 April 2013
  • Summary: I was pretty disappointed with this, so much so that I sent it back. I found it had a poor build quality and one five disks I tested it stutters on two whereas my existing player, tested at the same time to make sure the disks weren't at fault, played them effortlessly. I know you get what you pay for but this was not value for money.

Just SO Noisy!

jayb1986, Amazon
7 October 2012
  • Summary: Well...what a disappointment! I'm not a big critic and I really wanted to receive this blu ray player, be delighted with it and write a positive review. Unfortunately this player has immediately ruined my plan because from the moment you turn it on it makes the most incredible din! All other senses are overwhelmed by fan noise and "whirring" that you assume will die down after a few minutes...but it doesn't. Maybe it will die down after a few more plays then? Nope .
