Summary: I purchased this unit new and have had nothing but problems with it. What kinds of problems, you ask?....what hasn't gone wrong with this unit. The remote doesn't work very well and is not responsive. The DVD player locks up and nothing will work short of simply unplugging it and plugging it back in. When connecting to NetFlix, it often will freeze up and you have to back out of the application completely and go back into it.
Summary: I spent - check that! I WASTED eighty (80) of my hard earned dollars on this stink pile. I bought it specifically for the wi-fi option. I also thought it would be nice to upgrade to a blue ray player while I was at it. I was blinded by the price! I guess the joke was on me for forgetting that one of the major lessons in life: If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. That and: Anything in life worth having is worth paying for - you get what you pay for.

Summary: Yes, that is right. I am in need of my third Toshiba Blu-Ray/DVD player in six months. Please take my review very seriously. Within the first two months of use, our Blu-Ray/DVD player started skipping, shutting off and not responding to commands. I contacted Toshiba, and was relieved to learn that they replace all defective electronics through their Acclaims Department and a website called Toshiba Direct. What a joke!
Summary: Product was non working upon arrival.. Manufacture wanted it shipped back to them at my expense. An inconvenience all around. For this reason I will never buy electronics through Amazon. I'll stick to the more reliable retailers. Don.
Summary: have only used this unit 3 times. got struck in step twice and had to unplug it so it could gather its mind. while stuck it would not respond to any prompt from the remote. after plugging back in the unit worked ok. now today 5/20/2013 I tried the steps to obtain answers form the help line for toshbia. NO HELP. then I got no line to file a claim for replacement but there again none available but a gift card for the amount I paid good only at toshbia direct.com.
Awful product. Do Not Buy under any circumstance!!!!

Summary: Terrible. I purchased to work in office via Wi-Fi. Go to set up and it keeps saying network fail. Tried every possible combo, ad hoc, static/dynamic/ manual auto, upgraded firmware to 1.18. Nothing! Cat 5 even refuses to work. I want my money back please!
Summary: Final thoughts: If you are looking to buy a blu-ray player go with a different brand, they might cost a little bit more but they will be much more reliable! You get what you pay for!
Pros: It was easy to setup and had a nice selection of apps but...
Cons: This blu-ray player was a Christmas gift from my Grandma. I set it up on Christmas day and immediately noticed how sluggish it is. After connecting it to my wireless internet and upgrading the firmware. Later that day i decided to watch a movie on netflix. After logging in i watched a few tv show episodes when the blu-ray player suddenly froze. I tried shutting it down with the remote and the button on the player itself but nothing seemed to work so i unplugged it fro...
Summary: Purchased locally as a cost-effective option for streaming video in addition to Blu-Ray functionality. Set-up was not particularly intuitive, but went smoothly, network connected via WiFi on first attempt. Fast-forward 10 days and several on-screen messages about "network issue" with no explanation (all other devices in house working fine with the network/internet connection including AppleTV in other room). Today - cannot connect at all. "network fail".
