A strong home entertainment blu-ray

groupepub, epinions.com
19 July 2013
  • Summary: beside many firmware issues with Blu-ray DVD, I strongly suggest it due to its functionality and quality.
  • Pros: Great to watch Movie at Home, allow access to YouTube, Pandora, Picasa and Netflix
  • Cons: Up conversion suck, remote died after 2-3 months, player can be worse after 6 months.

It is ok

William V., Newegg
2 March 2013
  • Summary: Don't waste your money now if you are thinking about getting a Blue-Ray player. Find a much better one for same price or save up and get a better one.
  • Pros: It served it's purpose at the time and I knew I wasn't getting a top of the line Blue Ray player...
  • Cons: It is noisy when first loading a Blue-Ray movie. Wireless capabilities are alright.

User Review

Ben R., Newegg
11 November 2012
  • Pros: Wireless and easy to setup.
  • Cons: So disappointed in this product. I'm a PC/Laptop Repair Specialist and Toshiba usually puts out a very decent product. Just had so many different problem with this product I'll have to chalk it up as a defective unit. Slow to boot/load and I could barely navigate the menus. Picture quality would change while viewing. Returned as Defective.

Toshiba BDX2250 Blu-ray Player

MisterTickle, REVIEW STREAM
8 July 2012
  • Excerpt: I got the Toshiba Blu-ray player because of its upconversion feature. I would avoid Blu-ray disks if possible as they cost a lot more. Although this feature doesn’t exactly replace Blu-ray disk, it does offer a better picture quality. This Toshiba disk player is actually super thin. It saves a lot of space in terms of the height. Because it is so thin, I can actually put it in the shelf under the TV without having to worry about the device not fitting in.

Sub-par Wi-Fi Blu-ray

ironman96, Amazon
19 May 2012
  • Summary: Unfortunately we bought this before checking out reviews because of the cheap price and Toshiba brand. The player worked fine for DVDs and Netflix at first. About 3 weeks later, it started having problems turning on and stopped playing DVDs and Netflix. One day we struggled with the player for 30 minutes to try and get it to turn on. After having so many problems we decided to check reviews on Amazon which helped us realize the player was junk.

Cheap player with some flaws

Robert I., Newegg
21 January 2012
  • Summary: Overall not very reliable. It made a much better internet streaming device than blu-ray/dvd player. I wouldn't recommend it unless the price was really good.
  • Pros: Price was pretty good I suppose. Wifi is built in, not just "ready". Netflix and youtube seemed to work well.
  • Cons: Only HDMI out, no component video. It struggled playing DVD-R's, frequently freezing. Also the menus felt sluggish.

You get what you pay for...

McGyver, Amazon
30 October 2011
  • Summary: ...which is not a lot. It's small, fairly good looking in a nondescript kind of way, is not riddled with buttons on the front panel, has Wifi and Netflix (nice combo) and a remote with an OK set of buttons. Speaking of which (the remote that is), it has some weird connectivity problem. I used to own a Samsung DVD with HDD that had a very narrow field of reception, this is better but somewhat unresponsive.

Disappointment

TVS, Amazon
15 October 2011
  • Summary: Bought this Blu-Ray player a couple weeks ago on sale. Bottom line is it plays Blu-Ray and DVD disks fine, but the problem with my unit is when you pause the disk for more than a few minutes. Once the screensaver takes control, the unit is basically dead with the only option to go back to the Toshiba menu.

Mississauga

Josh, bestbuy.ca
9 April 2013
  • Summary: Bought one. It stopped working. Replaced it. Now it won't load DVD's or BluRay's just says "invalid". It's loud when it loads and menu's are laggy.
