Cons: So disappointed in this product. I'm a PC/Laptop Repair Specialist and Toshiba usually puts out a very decent product. Just had so many different problem with this product I'll have to chalk it up as a defective unit. Slow to boot/load and I could barely navigate the menus. Picture quality would change while viewing. Returned as Defective.
Excerpt: I got the Toshiba Blu-ray player because of its upconversion feature. I would avoid Blu-ray disks if possible as they cost a lot more. Although this feature doesn’t exactly replace Blu-ray disk, it does offer a better picture quality. This Toshiba disk player is actually super thin. It saves a lot of space in terms of the height. Because it is so thin, I can actually put it in the shelf under the TV without having to worry about the device not fitting in.
Summary: Unfortunately we bought this before checking out reviews because of the cheap price and Toshiba brand. The player worked fine for DVDs and Netflix at first. About 3 weeks later, it started having problems turning on and stopped playing DVDs and Netflix. One day we struggled with the player for 30 minutes to try and get it to turn on. After having so many problems we decided to check reviews on Amazon which helped us realize the player was junk.
Summary: ...which is not a lot. It's small, fairly good looking in a nondescript kind of way, is not riddled with buttons on the front panel, has Wifi and Netflix (nice combo) and a remote with an OK set of buttons. Speaking of which (the remote that is), it has some weird connectivity problem. I used to own a Samsung DVD with HDD that had a very narrow field of reception, this is better but somewhat unresponsive.
Summary: Bought this Blu-Ray player a couple weeks ago on sale. Bottom line is it plays Blu-Ray and DVD disks fine, but the problem with my unit is when you pause the disk for more than a few minutes. Once the screensaver takes control, the unit is basically dead with the only option to go back to the Toshiba menu.
