"Not a bad deal if you can get it as cheap as I did."
28 December 2010
Pros: Was affordable Easy to hook up and use.No problems so far and I have 2.
Cons: Can be annoyingly slow to load at times and if you stop the disk sometimes it starts back over at the beginning.Have become dissatisfied with Toshiba due to the fact they would not help with an issue that I have with a newer Player of theirs.
Summary: This player has been hooked up for four days, and so far so good. I'm not terribly "techno-savvie" so it was a surprise to me that the friend who came over to help me with this had to run out and buy a cord before the unit could be hooked up to output high definition, including Blu-ray. Why does the box with a Blu-ray player not contain everything it needs to run a Blu-ray disc? That extra expense is why I give it four stars.
Summary: Shopping from Amazon was easy as usual and the Blu-ray player arrived as per schedule. I am extremely staisfied with the Toshiba Blu-ray player. Similar player from Samsung / LG / Sony would cost almost twice!!!!
Summary: I just love my Toshiba Blue Ray. The player is sleek, lightweight and looks awesome on the TV stand. The quality of the movies were so crisp, you feel like you are in the movies. I highly recommended to my friends...and the price was just right!
Summary: I have been a fan of Toshiba products since my first purchase in 1998. The last 3 tv ' s I've bought for my own personal viewing[(2) 32" and (1) 40"] all have been Toshibas'. So when I was in the market for a blu-ray player, I searched 'til I found this one on Overstock.com web site. I am totally delighted and am now looking for a Toshiba dvd recorder. Read the manual to utilize all the great features that are in this BDX2000 1080p model.
Summary: Purchased this player for $100.00 on black Friday and thought I was getting a great deal. What I didn't check was the warranty most offer a 1 year, Toshiba only offers a 90 day limited warranty. Guess what, on day 92 the BDX2000 stopped playing dvd's and the BD playback sometimes freezes half-way through a movie. I'm probable going to end up paying for repairs or replacement of this unit.
Summary: I don't know how we lived for sixty years with normal television. The Blu-Ray and HDTV (which I also bought here) are amazing. The prompts are slow because the discs have so much information on them. So don't expect FF and the arrow prompts to move quickly like a normal DVD. Normal DVDs play nicely on here and are at the highest resolution for the format, which is about 720p. I love this player and it is reasonably priced.
Summary: for the price this blu ray player gives you every thing you need. from bd live to a quick pick up from where you left off in the movie this is a quality buy. The remote is easy to use. the player has a sleek look and design, i have also found it gives me much better dvd upconverting than the previous samsung blu ray player i owned which would give me some funtion issues on certain blu ray discs also. not so with this toshiba. thumbs up !
