Summary: Yes, that is right. I am in need of my third Toshiba Blu-Ray/DVD player in six months. Please take my review very seriously. Within the first two months of use, our Blu-Ray/DVD player started skipping, shutting off and not responding to commands. I contacted Toshiba, and was relieved to learn that they replace all defective electronics through their Acclaims Department and a website called Toshiba Direct. What a joke!
Summary: I needed a region free player, coming from the UK and this works just great. Not technically region free, as you have to set it but once done, it plays all my UK DVD's with no problem. I have always liked Toshiba goods and this is no exception. Great little player and takes up no room and does the job perfectly.
Summary: We have another Blu-ray player, but it did not work with Netflix subtitles. Although we discovered it was a Netflix issue, we enjoy Netflix in spite of this and decided to update the Blu-ray system. This player was easy to install, works well and the picture is awesome. The price was fair.
Summary: When I bought this item it stated that it was multi-regional. My daughter LOVES a lot of British shows (Dr Who, Skins, and their Being Human series) and my husband wanted some DVDs that are available over there, but not here (Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place). So I bought this. Um...no. It plays DVDs great, from the USA. It doesn't play DVD's from anywhere else. That sucks. I tried customer support and got nowhere. Great DVD player, but not multi-regional.
Summary: Actually received the Toshiba BDX1250KU already set to all region DVD. Plays DVD regions 1 & 2, DVD-R and Region A Blu-Rays without hesitation. I don't own any other BD regions but instructions to switch the region are straight forward. Remote is a little hard to use. Too many buttons close together not readily identified especially if your eyesight isn't sharp. Overall the player works great, and I don't have to have multiple DVD players to watch my collection.
Summary: I bought the Toshiba BDX1200 Blu-ray Disc Player because I wanted to be able to play my region 2 DVD's and when I first got the player everything seemed fine and the few discs I tried (region 1 & 2) played fine. Then about a month later I happened to try a PAL disc and it would NOT play. Tried another and same thing, got a message saying it was the wrong region.
