Sony introduces the BDZ-RS10, a Blu-ray digital video recorder with an integrated 320 GB hard drive. The DVR can record video to BD-R/BD-RE, hard drive or DVD+/-RW. Videos are recorded in MPEG4-AVC format. Along with the 2TB of hard disk drive space for storage of media files, the unit supports BD-RE, BD-RE DL (2 layers), BD-R, BD-R DL (2 layers), DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL (2 layers), DVD-RW, and DVD-R media playback, recording for high definition terrestrial digital broadcasting (up to 253 hours of recording), or HDV1080i recording (up to 159 hours) on its HDD. The unit also supports digital and analog TV tuners, and the following input and output terminals: antenna input, HDMI output, D-Terminal, Composite video input and output, D-Terminal Composite video input and output, S-Video input and output, S-Video input and output, stereo audio input and output, digital audio output, and USB port. The tuner on the unit supports Digital Terrestrial Tuner (CATV support pass-through x 1, 110 degree CS digital tuner x 1, analog terrestrial tuners (CATV tuner integrated)(VHF 12 ch, UHF 13 to 62 ch and CATV C13-C63ch).

The unit supports Dolby Digital (2ch/5.1ch), MPEG-2 AAC (DR mode) audio recording, MPEG-2, MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 AVC video recording, 192kHz 24-bit audio digital/analog converter, Definition (HD): 12-bit 148MHz, standard TV (SD): 12-bit 108MHz video digital/analog converter; has a maximum power consumption of 49W (32.2W on normal), 0.18W on standby and an annual power consumption of 37.2kWh / year. The Sony BDZ-RS10 measures 430 × 69.8 × 327 mm and weighs 4.3kg.
