Get what you pay for.....

Lima, Shawn, Amazon
25 May 2014
  • Summary: This sound system is a joke. Other than the random rebooting (which could easily be my device) the sound quality is terrible, the bass of the subwoofer is like a roller coaster during movies.

No bluetooth, rear speakers are not always active, no iPhone 5 interface

Ariana "Smily", Amazon
3 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this as an upgrade to BDV-E3100, thinking it is the same thing with some more goodies and louder sound, but to my disappointment, there was no Bluetooth feature on the device. Your options for streaming music from your phone/laptop are limited to some very unreliable apps.

HDMI output failed after two years

Brian Andonian, Amazon
14 January 2014
  • Summary: I was pretty happy with this unit as a basement surround sound blu-ray system. The wireless rear speakers are nice and worked out very well for me. Sound is good, very clean but not overwhelming in the bass department. However, the HDMI output started flickering and eventually there was no output.

Well, it sucks ....

Neethu A. Mathew "Mathew Family@yuma", Amazon
27 November 2013
  • Summary: 1. Internet apps get stuck sometimes. So you press the power button and wait for 2 minutes for it to shutdown and restart again, or pick your lazy ass up and go to the powerstation, pull out the plug, curse sony and go back to the seat. 2.

Set up took forever

Suzanne F LaBerge, Amazon
21 November 2013
  • Summary: Bought as a gift for daughter. Sound is just average and not worth the price. Took forever to set up, allow a couple of hours; should have expected that with Sony. Each time you change your room around you have to re-setup the system.

Good but could be better - then got worse (read deal breaker at bottom)

B. Brewer, Amazon
24 August 2013
  • Summary: Speaker Connections: This unit uses propitiatory plug-ins to the head unit, how ever the speakers them selves use the normal push-tab-insert-wire connection. While I understand why they uses funny custom connections, I suppose you could cut the cord and save the custom plug.

Two different units have wireless speakers not working

Powell, Amazon
10 April 2013
  • Summary: All functions work fine except for the wireless speakers. I got the first unit. The wireless speakers stopped working after just a day or so. Amazon immediately replaced the defective unit by shipping out the replacement unit BEFORE I even sent out the defective unit.

In a word....Disappointing

DaddyKnowHow, Amazon
1 April 2013
  • Summary: I really can only sum this up as stated above. I found this system to be lacking in a number of areas I will outline below. To begin with I ordered this system with the hope of finding a decent sounding fairly inexpensive solution to make movie night more enjoyable.

Lousy speakers

2Perno, Amazon
21 February 2013
  • Summary: I love the base unit amplifier of this unit, but the speakers sound like they come from a $20 radio. Fortuntely, I had an old set of Sony speakers from a DVD amp that I was replacing. They sounded a whole lot better.
