Summary: Great picture, Great sound. 3D is nice. BUT, no better picture wise than my LG BD570(2D) on a Samsung 47" 3d tv. Also, Netflix application is miles behind LG and Samsung. Seems Sony and Panasonic players only want to let you view your instant que, while LG and Samsung do that and allow you to browse and search for titles on netflix. Disc load times are nice, internet content load times are a bit slower than the LG Happy so far.
Summary: It's always nice to be surprised by a feature you didn't expect. We have a collection of SACD's (I weep for you poor ipod/mp3 junkies) that were dedicated to an old DVD player, but we found that the new S770 would decode and play the SACD's through the HDMI. Oh joy - one less component to worry about. We are very happy with the on-line content available, especially Pandora.
Summary: Just got the newest Sony 3D BluRay player, BDP-S770. Really bought it so I could stream internet content to my HDTV. This new player has very quick startup and video quality of my Bluray disks when played on the S770 are much better than my S350. Internet hookup went well, but have one issue. I can not get Dolby 5.1 sound to stream when streaming HD movies that have Dolby 5.1. The test HD movie clip from Amazon video on demand has great video but the sound is PCM.
Summary: This is the first Blu-Ray player I have owned and I thought the setup was very simple. The player is connected to my receiver and so is my Tivo. After watching a Blu-Ray disc and turning the unit off and then switching to Tivo there was no signal to my TV. The issue was with HDMI Control. The Player comes set with the HDMI Control set to on, I had to turn that feature off and my Tivo work properly again.
