Summary: I've had this several months so here goes my review. PROS 1. It is fast loading 2. The Audio and Picture are great 3. The upscaling of DVDs that are enhanced for widescreen tvs is also great CONS 1. High Pitched Whine during playback. Only notice this in quiet parts of the movies. Probably due to these items not having a good solid state case around them to insulate the sound. 2. Netflix Streaming issues, noticed others having problems with this too.
Summary: If you are planning on streaming Netflix via Wi-Fi then this Blu-Ray is NOT for you; it has major buffering problems and you will be frustrated with perpetual interruptions while streaming. In reading reviews on [...] they list the 570 model as having spotty Wi-Fi streaming capabilities; the 770 is no better. If you want a Sony Blu-Ray that has good reviews for streaming Wi-Fi then the Sony PS3 slim is the way to go.
Summary: I've had my S770 for a three days. A decent player with great streaming functionality. I'd give it four or five stars except for one annoying defect: Maybe half the time I turn it on, the TV screen turns pink and the player freezes up and then turns itself off. Super annoying. Google "Sony pink screen" and you'll see lots of other people having the same problem.
Summary: I have been nothing but impressed with the quality of the BDP-S770. It is a fantastic Blu-ray, Netflix, Amazon, and Qriocity media playing device. It has just about every feature that you could possibly want, with one exception. One of the main reasons I bought this particular player was for its DLNA capabilities.
