Summary: I owned this thing for 14 months and really liked it. Then it would not turn on. (power up). I tried everything, then went to Sony's Support Site. I chatted with Franky who told me that if it would not turn on, it would have to be repaired. I asked where? Best Buy? The answer was no that it would have to be sent in to the factory since they have no company facilities in any of the fly over states! Guess all of their customers live on a coast.
Summary: This is my third Sony Blue Ray Player. The first is still working but I wanted to upgrade for the wi-fi feature. I bought this model because it was the lastest and greatest. The first one work great on net-flixs. I watched about twenty hours in two weeks and then although the wifi streamed netflix well the disk door would not open and eject the disk. Amazon shipped me a new one immediantly. Net Flix worked very intermitantly on the replacement.
Summary: The manual states that it can play many different formats of video files. I cannot find one that is lists that actually plays. False advertising? You bet. Tech support? Forget about it. They haven't a clue as to what a video file is. I can't believe it.
Summary: !WARNING: Sony BDP-S770 3D Blu-ray Disc Player with Wi-Fi Do not buy any products from this disgraceful, arrogant, insensitive, dishonest manufacturer. It really deserves 0! stars. My Sony Blu-ray Player, bought on 12/8/08, was working fine. A few days ago (12/11/10) I downloaded from Sony esupport website the x021 firmware update for this player. I followed all instructions to the letter, and created a CD-R update disc.
Summary: Beware of Sony Blu Ray! There is a good chance it will die soon after the warranty expires! Most company's will extend the warranty if its within a month or 2, NOT SONY! Support is the worst in the industry! Very strange this happens more then the feedback states here on Amazon???

Summary: Two issues with this: 1. The player is less than 6 weeks old, and I'm in the process of sending it back to Sony for the second time. 33 minutes into playback, whether DVD or bluray, it is just quits. No video. No audio. It won't respond to the remote. You have to kill the power and then wait for it to come back on. 2. I purchased this unwittingly from Beach Camera. I didn't realize that you can't return products to them. It has to go to Sony for repair.
Summary: Since the player is pretty new, there hasn't really been any reviews on the player. Although I do have a PS3 (equipped with Blu-ray playback), I wanted a stand-alone box to watch my movies as well as stream Netflix. I usually don't pick up a product like this without research, but I know Sony has some great products out there so I made an exception. Player isn't too bad, but there are a few things that just aren't acceptable: 1.
