Summary: why is this selling for so much when original list price was $uno hundred and fiffty ? I bought mine reconditioned from New Egg for half that price.
Pros: Great Blu Ray player. Streams Netflix movies with no lag, very clear image watching House of Cards, etc.. I need to only use the buttons on the unit itself for watching autoplay Blu-Rays I burn with Sony Vegas Pro
Cons: slow to boot up from cold? Slow to play a Blu-Ray when you first insert it.
Summary: This is the second one that I purchased. I cannot find it on the shelf anymore so I got it through Amazon. It not only works with the latest TVs but also the old analog TVs. I highly recommend this player.
Summary: The Sony S590 is another excellent Blu ray player from Sony. Fast load times, excellent Audio and Video and its loaded to the gills with apps and features you probably wont have the time use. The deal breaker for me was the inclusion of Vudu my favorite streaming site. You cant find a better Blu ray player for the money in my book.
Pros: Excellent Video and Audio, Fast load times, Great Streaming.
Pros: We bought this unit to replace a Samsung Blu-ray player that was having difficulty playing several of the newer titles released. This player has performed very well and has had no issues playing all titles currently owned. The built-in wifi also works very well and easily retrieves firmware updates and extra content for blu-ray titles. As expected, easy hook-up and worked within minutes.
Summary: I had been using an older Sony Blu-ray player but wanted to be able to stream Netflix content. I read the descriptions of quite a few other Blu-ray players, and found many were Wi-Fi ready, but did not have Wi-Fi built in. Their ads don't often make this distinction and failing to read the full description can lead to being the victim of a rip-off. I decided on the Sony BDP-S590 because I wanted to be able to go to a 3D TV in the future if I wanted.
Pros: Great picture and easy set up for Wi-Fi connections to Netflix and other streaming services. There were absolutely no problems setting up the BDP-S590 player. It was almost as easy to set up as an Apple TV I use in another room.
