Summary: no closed captioning available for Netflix...a total waste of money. I bought this as a gift for my mom who is hearing impaired and now it is useless. Should have bought a Roku. Do yourself a favor and get a Roku instead
Summary: I have owned many great Sony products over the years that have had great build quality, functionality, and last forever. After my last AV Receiver finally crashed, I retired my old Sony DVD player to the bedroom, and I bought a Denon AirPlay A/V Receiver with an ARC connection to the TV and 3D pass...
Summary: I purchased this unit in part for the internet streaming capability (Netflix in particular). I had bought a Sony SMP-N100 streaming player for a non-HD TV and was really impressed with the interface and performance - so I wanted to stick with Sony (I also love the Media Remote app!!
Summary: Unfortunately, the player wasn't able to do a simple thing: Play DVDs. I had purchased this as a birthday gift and upon initial setup, everything appeared to be working. It was able to connect to my wireless router and it updated the firmware with no problems.
Summary: So, I purchased this to save wear and tear on my PS3, after hearing from my brother that his heavy use of that caused the hard drive to detach. We make heavy use of streaming, primarily through Netflix, so I wanted a device that could do that as well as replace my old, dying DVD player.
Summary: I will try to be as objective in this review as possible. I used PS3 as my bluray player for some time, but recently the HDMI port went bad and component cable did not do much for a picture on my 60" Sony.
Summary: My husband ordered one over the holidays. It worked for around 2 months, then we could not get the power to turn on at all. We returned it to Sony under warranty, and the one they sent as a replacement never played Blu-ray disks and eventually would not turn on either.
