Summary: I bought this product and it worked fine for multiple regions, but after a while (and maybe an update) the device stopped playing multiple regions. Now it is no better than a much cheaper Blu Ray player. Don't buy this if you expect to play DVDs from multiple regions for long.

Summary: I have 3 of these vs. cable boxes. While Sony has a good range of streaming services and the box is fast enough for all streaming video including Netflix, vudu and AIV using TWC std speed modem, IT HAS A COUPLE THINGS THT ARE REALLY ANNOYING, 1.

Summary: As many others have reported, the ability to stream content from the internet using the built-in apps is very unreliable. It will often fail to connect at all, and when it does connect it will stop in the middle of a movie and will not reconnect. Sometimes power cycling helps.
Summary: I installed this unit after Christmas, about three months ago. We've watched a few DVDs and Youtube videos, but now it won't power up. I'm in the process of contacting Sony for repair or replacement -- will update this review after the repair/replace is completed.
Stopped working less than 3 months after purchase.

Summary: Less than 3 months after purchasing, it froze with the tray open. It would not respond to the remote. After I unplugged it and plugged it back in, the tray retracted, but it would no longer play some Blu-Ray discs (believing them to be from the wrong region).
Summary: I bought this item in November, whether I'm playing a Blue Ray or streaming a movie, I'm unable to communicate with the device using the remote. I can stop the device using the stop button on the device, but I am unable to start again or scroll through the menu.
Summary: The player was great for 3 months, then Sony pushed a software update. Now it won't let me use any online content without the update and the player freezes when I attempt to update. After trying some suggestions from their tech support, Sony wants to exchange it with a refurbished model...
