Summary: i got this blu ray player 2 years ago with my sony card points and i must say i have no problems at all. yes it takes a little time to load but it does not bother me. i think its an awesome machine. its a little big but it does fit into my cabinet.
Summary: You won't believe your eyes. Blu-ray is here to stay folks and this machine gives me my fix! Remember to update the firmware and learn to be patient with the slow door response and you won't be disappointed with the entertainment!
Summary: I agree, this player is slow, especially when playing Blu-Ray disc. I have BDP-S1000ES, BDP-S2000ES & DVP-S7000, therefore this one fits right in. It will be playing primarly the standard DVD and occassional Blu-Ray. The front doors on the S7000 & S500 very simular movement.

Summary: I purchased this machine to replace a Samsung BD-P1200 and am quite impressed with the features and quality of its playback capabilities. I did have to update the firmware from 3.0 to 3.1, which took about 20 minutes to complete, but I am very pleased with its performance.
