Summary: Price , It came usmail not a good thing they must thiow things around broken plasticeparts inside. with door open i was able to shake it out and the cover on the door was hanging off manedged to get it on. It works now thow. Fed Ex the way to go.
Summary: I wanted a one box WiFi solution to my internet HT (no broadcast TV or cable) . I was tired of switching between sources (mainly, Netflix, Amazon, and BluRay) I bought this unit from Amazon two months ago. Picture is as good or better than my old LG. ( I have a large DVD collection and it plays them all, so far) The built in WiFi is reliable and after getting used to their interface, seems fairly easy to get through the menus.
Pros: works fine, has Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and more. Remote is better laid out than most, but not backlit!
Summary: I've read reviews of older Sony BD players that quit support for DLNA after about a year, so I'll give an update if that happens. So far, DLNA support works great.
Pros: Super fast disc load. (Now, if only I could figure out a way to skip all the previews. . . .) Small, sleak design. Curved top so you can set other things on top, but it's so small why would you want to?
Cons: Shipped in manufacturer's box. Seems pretty stupid to ship a Bluray player just in its box, especially during the holidays. No signature required either, so UPS just left it on my doorstep. 1 egg off for this foolish invitation for theft.
"A bargain at $100. Has all the important services"
21 November 2012
Pros: A simple interface that has a very shallow learning curve. All the important music and video services are there. Services and picture are fine, no problems with buffering or streaming. Blu-Ray works fine.
Cons: Search input using remote is slow. Pretty clearly has very little CPU/memory. Internet browser is not terribly useful.
Summary: Pros Sleek design I like the black colour and overall finish of product Use this heavily for lovefilms etc.. Good sharing mechansm for music and video Cons Should add more apps, Navigation could have been better Sharing of files ec is not straiighforward.
Summary: The Sony BDPS390 was easy to set up and join my home network with built in apps for the major streaming services (LOVEFiLM and Netflix) amongst a host of others, including BBC iPlayer, this little bit of kit is great. The only downside is the list of streaming services isn't comprehensive and misses a few.
