Excerpt: Just received this new Sony BDP-S370 blu ray player for Christmas. We already have a Samsung blu ray player, but it would make this annoying high pitched noise as the blu ray would play. The picture wasn't much clearer than regular tv. So, for Christmas this year my husband purchase me a new Sony BDP-S370 blu ray player. I can tell you the minute he hooked it up, which was a breeze, there was an amazing difference from our old player to the new Sony BDP-S370.
Excerpt: My boyfriend and I just received this Blu Ray player for Christmas, and at first, I wasn't too excited. First, because the wireless adapter wasn't included and cost an extra $90! And second, because I didn't see a huge difference between DVDs and Blu Rays other than blu rays costing more. I quickly realized I didn't need the wireless adapter and just hooked into the internet router. I also realized this can play DVDs so I dont need to switch to blu ray.
Excerpt: We have had the Sony Blue-ray DVD Player for a little under a year and so far we really enjoyed it. We haven't used barely any of the features. (And trust me their is PLENTY to choose from) But we have used the Nteflix off of their and we really loved the convenience of being able to load whatever movie that we want to watch right then and there in a only a matter of minutes.
Excerpt: We received this as an early Christmas (and thank you) gift from my parents and have totally fallen in love with it! IT not only allows us to watch Blu-Ray movies, but with it hooked up to our home network we can stream our Netflix and watch movies & TV shows off an external hard drive. Pros: Price. We got this as a gift, but I was actually the one who physically bought on Black Friday for $99.
Excerpt: I received this Sony Blu-Ray player for Christmas a couple of years ago. It is the first and only Blu-Ray player I have ever owned and I have really enjoyed it. This Blu-Ray player plays both Blu-Rays and also DVDs, which is nice because I don’t think all Blu-Rays players play both. I have an extensive DVD collection and it was very important that any Blu-Ray player I owned would play my DVDs as well. I have had no problems from this Blu-Ray player.
Summary: I bought this blu-ray player two years ago and it's performing wonderfully. It has great built quality. It's true that this blu-ray player doesn't have wi-fi, but that doesn't really bother me. I'm just happy that it can play a majority of my mkv file that are stored in my external hard drive.
Summary: I have owned this player for 18 months and it has performed very well. Purchased for 100 bucks at the Sony store at the mall. It is easy to use and set up. It's performance rivals much more expensive players. Its not as good as my PS3 but a PS3 is a much more expensive way to watch movies. This player will even play SACD by sending DSD bit-stream through HDMI but you must have an AVR that is DSD compatible.
Summary: This is my 3rd dvd/blue ray player. After 6 months of beating this thing to death its still going great with a awsome picture. I love how it will let you know that there is an update for the firmware to make sure that it will be able to play all of the latest BlueRay discs. I also enjoy how if you power it off while watching a disc it will come back up and start where it left off. Normally i don't give a good review of a sony product let alone buy one but.
Summary: I received my Sony BDP-S370 on 2/17/2012 and quickly configured it without a problem. These are the highlights: - For those of you that may not be aware: * If you have an HD-ready (no HDMI inputs, only component video (DTV)) TV, this unit will allow you to output 1080i over component to your TV. It was manufactured in 2010, before the so called 'sunset rule' came into play where any bluray made on or after 1/1/11 will not let you output a 1080i signal over component.
Summary: This Sony blu ray is top notch...It's not the newest "cookie cutter" model, but it is a no nonsense player that operates smoothly w/o any issues (quiet operation)...The only drawback is the lack of built in Internet access capabity, which is quickly remedied with a not included Sony Wifi adapter, which isn't cheap ($70-$80). Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this player to anyone looking for one that does what it's supposed to do like a champ.
